Is the new Captain America movie any good? I loved Sam back in the pre-Endgame and TF&TWS but considering the recent movies are little more than stretched out post-credits scenes focusing on anything but the things they should be about... I'm afraid they might've massacred my boy. So, how is it?

My hopes for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

I’m been looking forward to this show ever since it was announced years ago, more than any other marvel content!!! based on the trailers so far, it looks AMAZING, and definitely captures Anthony and Seb’s dynamic. But here’s what I hope the show brings (so I can look like a clown if marvel inevitably disappoints me)

- RESPECT SAM WILSON!!! This is his time to shine and i want ALL the backstory and character development! Here’s marvel’s chance to go beyond just hilarious quips and action moments, and dive into his backstory and character. I want to see his journey has he takes up the Cap mantel, I want to hear more about his family and Riley, I want to see him get an amazing arc. AND they need to do this while not falling into any antiblack tropes, and maybe acknowledging the racism he would face as Cap

- Don’t erase Bucky’s trauma! Other fans and I have been waiting for YEARS for Bucky to get more screentime, and now that he has a show, I don’t want them to pretend his trauma never happened because he got stuck in a freezer for a while. Let him have EMOTIONS, let us find about more about his history as the winter soldier and before, let him reminisce about memories with Steve and struggle with the aftermath of what Hydra did to him. I’m really happy that this show has a lighter tone, but i don’t want to see him be a Generic Action Man

- Please no Sharon/Bucky. If they do Sharon/Sam, I can live with that, but Sharon/Bucky would be pretty weird, considering how he knew Peggy as well. Honestly I hope she isn’t a love interest to either of them, considering she’s also Steve’s ex

- Just. Let Sam and Bucky have softer moments. Let them both reflect on the loss they’ve both been through, and have honest, emotional conversations with each other. God forbid Marvel let their characters show real vulnerability

I’m obsessed with the parallels between the Siberia scene and the scene with John Walker in the square. The Siberia scene (and Civil War in general) was  Steve’s lowest and most desperate point and arguably similar to the circumstance Walker found himself in at the end of episode 4 where he was fighting to protect his best friend, not caring who got in the way. And at the end of that fight, Steve brings the shield down on Tony in a way that was similar to what Walker did and he could have used it to kill him (and we as viewers are meant to believe for a second that he is going to) but he hits the arc reactor instead, enough to incapacitate Tony but he clearly chooses not to kill him (even though Tony was fighting to kill). But John Walker, who’s overpowering anger and self-righteousness was escalated by the serum rather than selflessness and strength, made the exact opposite choice, because we can see that he makes a very clear decision to kill. And that is the difference between those two characters.
