Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

Rewatched the Toy Story series, shorts and all, in preparation for 5 to drop on streaming and... I feel like y'all owe 4 an apology. While it's not the best in the series, I think people ragged on it wayyy more than warranted. Both Woody and Bo Peep's arcs made sense to me this time around, the motivations and eventual conclusions to their arcs don't come out of nowhere like many people like saying they do.

EDIT: On the other hand, I forget "Lightyear" exists for long stretches of time until someone reminds me of it. It's not all bad, but its got decent highs and very low lows. I liked Buzz himself, I liked certain sequences, the human settlements in space looked fantastic and on a meta level I love how Buzz Lightyear is an in-universe media franchise that mimics our own, with a movie, a cartoon, a toyline...
