TF2 Mercs X Gender Neutral Reader With A Tamed Tiger Headcanons: Scout: -He legit screams so loud that you're sure that the windows broke- -He's never ran so fast in his life- -Once you explain to him (while the Tiger is in your room) that it's tamed and won't hurt him, he doesn't believe you at first, but after watching how it behaves, he kinda starts to trust it. -He always is on edge though, afraid it'll attack him and you and the others. -The fact that you talk to it like it's not at all a dangerous animal fucking scares and amazes him- -But he's glad that the TIger trusts you enough to not hurt you (still won't touch it though)- Spy: -At first thinks the Tiger was one of Medic's experiments and isn't fazed. -But once you explain that it's an actual Tiger, he's practically shitting himself and slowly backing away. -He'll watch from afar, watching how the Tiger acts around you. -How you seem so calm around it fucking scares him- -And while he'll calm down a little bit around it, he doesn't fully trust it and won't even sleep in the same room as it- Soldier: -Straight up thinks the Tiger is a intruder and tries to fight it (cue to him being told off and healed by Medic and you). -He's surprisingly not afraid of it?? -He sees it as a guard pet for you and trusts completely after it near eats his head off. -Proud to say he has a true soldier (him and the Tiger) protecting you! Pyro: -Loves the Tiger!! -Honestly, isn't afraid of it, but who's surprised? -Definitely is best friends with the Tiger and gives it many pets and snuggles. -Tries to put a collar on it, but that didn't work out- -Talks to the Tiger like you do and eve refers to it as your Guys' child- Medic: -Sees it as a soon-to-be-experiment and gets all giggly about the possibilities. -But when you tell him "no", he pouts like a child and gives a big ol' "Finneeeeeee!" -Watches the Tiger like a Hawk when his Dove is around and will straight up put his dukes up at it if it so much as look at his Dove- -But he's happy you have a good relationship with the Tiger! Demoman: -He saw the Tiger when he was drunk and tries to fight it to protect you (cut to the others and you trying to explain that it's tamed)- -Once he's sober, his protectiveness over you doesn't change (but can you blame him?)- -He keeps an eye (heh) on the Tiger and even gets jealous on how friendly you are with it. -He'll straight up pout if you give it extra affection and not give him any- Heavy: -Not frightened or surprised in the slightest. -Yes, it's a Tiger, but he can tell it behaves differently from non-tamed ones and sees how well you've trained it. -He trusts that you can take care of yourself when around it and pretty much gives it the same respect as other animals (I mean, you can own Bears in Russia, is this really surprising??)- -Will help in the care of the Tiger and make sure it has a comfortable place to rest and such! -Smiles when you talk to it with such fondness- Sniper: -Has to do a double take and even wipe his Glasses thinking he's lost his mind- -He'll give you a "???" type of facial expression and keep his distance. -But once you explain it's tamed and won't attack unless it's provoked, he calms down and even goes full on nerd mode talking about how amazing Tigers are. -He respects the Tiger and doesn't coo at it like Pyro or even Soldier, but he'll help take care of it. -Thinks it's the cutest thing when you talk to it and has even overheard you talk about him to it (making him melt). Engineer: -Amazed and slightly scared, but he doesn't freak out like you'd think he would. -He's been around Medic's Bread Monster and shit, you really think a Tiger's gonna scare him?? -He doesn't coo at it and give it pets, rather just keeping his distance and respecting it that way. But he'll ask about what the Tiger likes in food and such and help make sure the Tiger isn't bother by certain mercs (Pyro and Soldier). -He thinks you're the most precious thing when you talk to it-

Cuddle Bear

You don't know why you had woken up, but you were annoyed that when you woke up, your lover wasn't beside you. The spot beside you in the bed was still warm, so you knew he hadn't been out of bed for a while. With a mumbled groan, you get out of bed and go to the kitchen. You walk around the corner, the smell of eggs and toast hit your nose and your stomach growls. You didn't even realize it was morning. You spot Demo standing in front of the stove cooking eggs, scrambled. You can hear him whistling a tune that you don't recognize, but it sounds nice. You walk up behind him and wrap your arms around his waist, causing him to jump in surprise. "Ah, Lamb, ya' scared me!" He says with a chuckle. You mumble and rest your head on his back, nuzzling into the fabric of his black turtleneck. "Feelin' cuddly this morning, 'ey, Love?" He asks as he finishes cooking the eggs and placing them on a plate. "You weren't in bed, couldn't sleep," you mumble into his back, making Demo chuckle. "'m sorry, Lamb, didn't mean to leave the bed, but I knew you'd be hungry." He says as he turns around to face you. His expression is that of adoration as he scans your state, hair messy, a pout on your face, and tired eyes from just waking up. He gently grabs your face and pulls you in for a kiss, which you accept gladly. He's gentle with his kiss, making you melt. He pulls back, but rubs his thumbs on your cheeks in soothing circles. "Let's eat and then we'll cuddle some more, okay, Lamb?" Your stomach growls in agreement.

There’s a cat. A singular cat that wanders around base, getting fed by some of the mercs, and somehow never gets fat with all the snacks he gets. There’s no official name for him yet, but technically all the mercs have a nickname for him. Funny enough he responds to them all. Hewaits outside a door, knowing a merc is in there, just waiting for [Mercenary] to come out to give him head scratches. He is well loved and fed. Often hangs out with engineer in his workshop :), usually sleeps in the workshop but when it’s cold or there is bad weather spy (relectently) let’s him in, whispering a “You will not tell anyone I did this for you” Spy has this whole act where he pretends he hates the cat, but in secret, when nobody is around gives him a single kiss on the head and promptly leaves. Sometimes the cat will even eat dinner with them, sitting in a special cat chair that engineer made for him. ☺️

Engi def' has made a special bed and blanket just for the Cat to lay down on while he's working. Pyro often has the Cat in their lap due to how warm they are (that, and they give the Cat a lot of scritches). Sniper will cook a meal for the Cat along with his and eat it with him. Medic was suspicious of the Cat, but seeing how well his Dove gets along with him and the Cat surprisingly not killing the Bird, he warms up to the Cat and kinda uses him as a therapy Cat (he gets fed along with treats). When Demo is drunk, he tends to cry to himself a lot, but with the Cat there, he calms down and focuses on the Cat rather than his sorrows. He gives half of his food to the Cat as thanks (as long as it's safe, of course). Heavy gives the Cat the meat from his sandwich and even hunts small animals for it so he's fed well. The Cat's an important part of the team, he needs fuel!! Scout plays with the Cat often, and even has little naps with it. He's even given the Cat one of his baseballs to play with. Despite how loud Soldier often is, the Cat is perfectly chill around him and even joins him in waking up the other mercs with his own loud ass meows- Spy gets the Cat his own tailored vest and even a little top hat. He gives the Cat the best food in secret and makes sure the Cat is groomed regularly. He keeps the I-don't-like-the-Cat act due to his reputation, but he would s o b in private if something happened to the little creature.
