Fun fact: In their headspace, Val tends to be closer to Hashtag's size! It's a choice; she can appear however she wants here.

Being a deployer is kind of a metaphor for being a system in my AU. So they have this sort of shared headspace when the 'cassettes' are docked! [They also share memories when docked - anything one sees will eventually be known by the others. Servers do tend to share information with their network!]

Ref sheets kind of for a different 2nd alt mode for Hashtag [part of her Decepticon Phase] and Val's minibot form! If you can't read the handwriting, one says "she should be cubes, she's One Of Us" and the other is just gay. Some notes and explanation:

The Terran "cassette-bots" actually have rack-mount server alt modes. It's also a device for information storage, so theoretically it fits. And it fits the internet theme better, along with being an extension of the whole "next generation" theme!

The biggest downside to that choice is that the thing they're stored in is called a rack, and that is hilarious in a really childish way. I'm so sorry Hashtag.

I liked the blocky design of Hashtag's first alt mode, but there are a few reasons it felt really reasonable for her to be so excited to change it even if she wasn't going to be the "only one" of the GHOST vans left. Bad memories, for her and for the 'Cons they were trying to work with. So I made a design that took things I liked from both! [shiny paint oooo]

Val's design on the other hand unabashedly takes cues from that canon truck alt. She's supposed to look more sleek and slim anyway. Hashtag very much thinks she looks fragile, and she doesn't have any real combat ability, so she feels very protective of her. After learning she has a physical form, Val lowkey switched from virtual assistant to anime girl. That's what's up with the DDLC pose.

Val's skirt was a super cute idea but it's so so hard to work with that I've mostly dropped it from the design.
