I’ve been thinking lately that maybe the future is just a memory of a dream. A dream we hope to live more than just achieve. And that’s it. Maybe that’s why it never really feels like the future, why it never really feels like we’ve arrived. Because we’re never quite really there yet. And perhaps we’ll never be. I mean, how often do we just stop and say to ourselves, “This is it, I’ve achieved everything I wanted” without first dreaming of more and never quite taking in the dream we’ve already achieved for all that it is? I don’t know about you, but I’m still just working on the first one.
