Two weeks ago I could barely stand on my right foot. I thought about dropping out of the marathon because I’d been unable to properly train for weeks and I was in constant pain. After intensive physical therapy and doctor mandated foot rest I felt like maybe I could at least give the race a go. I’d hoped months ago when I was healthier to finish in 6:30. With the wonderful gift of medical intervention, my family’s support, a host of NC friends texting my well wishes and super fabulous NY race fans, I crossed the finish line in 6:54. It’s not a great time but I was anticipating 7:30-8:00 hours on the course if I finished at all. Today was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but it’s also one of the most rewarding. NYC I could not love you more and I can’t wait to go on running tour with you again soon! #nycmarathon2018 #newyorkiloveyou #tfk2018 #nyc #flowergirlnc #marathonb (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpyH2J0nSoc/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=3avdgiqtrox5
