Friday Feels 🤗 // Flashback to PR’ing at the Shape Women’s half marathon in Central Park in 2015 with a 1:56 😀 I was on a roll with PR’s that year since I ran the Brooklyn Half less than a month later and shaved 2 mins off that time. // Feel like I’ve been pregnant 🤰🏾 for so long that it’s fun looking back at these old race photos. // The Shape Women’s Half Marathon was the very first road race I did almost 10 years in 2009. I signed up after reading about it in a magazine(I’d never even ran a 5k 😬), gave myself 3 months to train and went for it. I’m already making plans for my postpartum running return for this summer. Can’t wait! 😃 // Do you plan races well in advance? How much time do you give yourself to train? Just me and a few thousand of my closest friends starting their morning right with a 15 mile marathon training run.
84 days until the marathon. I’ve got this.
Another great run through Central Park. We saw the Finish Line then ran through Time Square. Probably not our smartest idea. It was a bit crowded...who knew? #runnersofinstagram #altrarunning #zerodrop #runmanhattan #altraambassador #hammernutrition #howihammer #run #running #runnyc #runcentralpark #nycmarathon #runnycmarathon2018 #caterpy (at Central Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/BprroHQh47t/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=wgujcirbwg8
🎶Start spreading the news🎶 It's race week! Can't wait to be a part of New York this weekend! Looking forward to seeing the city decked out for the holidays, getting my hockey fix in, OH and running in Central Park. #runnyc #halfcrazy #runshot #actionshot #newyorknewyork #sinatra #runhappy
My goal for 2016 was to run 500 miles. It wasn’t easy, but I did it. My goal for 2017 was to run 1,000 miles. Also not easy, but I achieved that by the end of October, and pounded out another 264 miles to boot! For 2018, my goal isn’t going to be a new, greater distance, but a new PR—a 6 minute mile. I can do a pretty consistent 7 minute mile now, so I’ve got 12 months to train my way down 60 seconds. Wish me luck! . . . . #dave3runs #run #runner #running #runforlife #runnerlife #training #instarun #instafit #runners #runnyc #nyrr @nyrr #1250miles #nsv #nonscalevictory
Happy #GlobalRunningDay! Where’s your favorite place to run in New York City (when you’re not running for the train)?

I want to start logging my runs here in Tumblr (don't worry there will still be plenty of @buckythefrenchy pictures and videos). The goal of this is to keep me accountable/motivated to try and run everyday. At 42 yrs old I've fallen really out of shape relative to my fitness in college and post college. That's mostly unfair because I ran track and cross country in college but I've known what it feels like to be in reasonably good shape and I am no where near that. Also, I am probably carrying 20-25 lbs more than I should be. This was my first run in 2/3 months and before that I would run a little but very inconsistently. This run was in NYC and it was pretty shitty out with the constant rain. I was happy I did 4.66 miles, but kind annoyed that I didn't do another lap around the block to get up to 5 miles. Psychologically hitting 5 miles would have felt nice and made trudging through a 3 mile run next week not feel as bad. This run was in NYC but my runs moving forward, at least for the next couple of months will be in London. Mostly in the Camden Town area. If you have any questions, comments, words or encouragement or discouragement drop a note. I'm interested to see if anyone will engage with these posts.
