kirk and spock purge au

spock’s mom was killed during the purge. wealthy class ambassador’s wife from the wrong race... it was a miracle his dad had kept her safe that long. spock stopped believing in miracles.

kirk gets into a barfight at 6pm, already bloody and fiesty, ready to take on the world. not sure which side he’s on, though. he lost his dad to the purge the night he was born. yeah, that’s right pointy, purge birthday. best night of the year.

neither of them say it, but they both know that’s exactly why he’s drunk, angry, and in a bar every year. same as spock. except for the drunk, angry, and in a bar. spock has the level-headed rage.

it’s because he’s also hiding twelve children under the bar and fighting everyone who’s coming in that spock decides he’s worth keeping around

all twelve children (of hated or feared officers) survive, both kirk and spock come out bloody and a bit less dangerous to themselves, and the rest of the year is spent in planning for next. 

they’ve both got people to protect, and to avenge. neither of them like corruption much.

#though to be honest in some ways i preferred the original#it had a simpler storyline but it was just#actually i was more of a zoo tycoon girl myself
