“The Great Nerf War” GIF set 2 credit goes to the TGNW Fan Division on Discord
Cpl. Quinn Austin
To literally no ones surprise, one of the members of 42nd company is kind of a self-isnter, because how could I not? This also makes her my oldest TGNW fan character out of all of them.
Quinn is a tinkerer and weapons technician, always equipped with a tool pouch and the sort of weapon no ones else would have the patience took keep working for long. But Quinn enjoys fixing things, it calms her when she's under stress and so every blaster in the collective 42nd arsenal is always in perfect working order, and their camping cookers and van too.
Serena "Scythe" Wilson
Currently my only Belligerwitch solidier and right hand to Commander Corvus is Scythe. Obviously originally inspired Florentine, she's a mute, ambidextrous pistol slinger and Assassin with a short temper and equally short build.
After resenting being treated as "lesser" because of her disability, she will take any chance to proof her worth to the cause and to Corvus, who she admires. She would do almost anything for him, and takes great pride in her position as his personal Assassin.
Her design gave me quite a lot of trouble between when I first came up with her and starting to work on the stories of the 42nd Company. Her coat was closer to black in the beginning and was lacking any green. I am aware that while makeup like hers is seen in like one episode in TGNW, her white hair would stick out so much in the show and I have no explanation for it^^
Agent Eiji "Tanuki" Takanashi
The younger of the two M.I.N.O.T.A.U.R.S. agents assigned to 42nd Company. He originally comes from Japan but was sending a year abroad at an American school when the war begun and he decided to stay and support the Peace-Bull.
He doesn't say much but he puts a lot of afford into making everyone feel as at home as can be inside the second hand van the 42nd calls their home. He often does so with his cooking, managing to recreate meals from his home with whatever resources they have on hand.
Aside from that, he is also a stealth expert and usually functions as a scout or lookout for the company.
1st Ltd. Matthew "Matt" Chambers
Matt is Riley's closest friend and second in command within the 42nd Company. His last name was picked as a little nod to Rise Against's "Chamber the cartridge" which is among my favorite songs used in TGNW trailers.
He and Riley used to live in the same town and just barely knew each other. But when a group of Belligerwitch attacked the town out of nowhere, they found themselves fighting side by side to protect their friends and families. They have been inseparable since then, joining the Peace-bull and the old 42nd company together.
Matt doesn't seem like someone who thinks far ahead, but he's very quick to grasp a plan and act on it. Some would call him a loose cannon for that (pun intended) but he's very loyal and reliable and would never knowingly put his friends at risk.
Captain Riley Wells
The current captain of the 42nd Peace-Bull company and with that kind of the main man of my little fan spin-off to TGNW.
Riley has a very close relationship with the rest of his company, but especially Matt, whos like a brother to him. The larger powers of the Peace-Bull army however not not on his friend-list, in fact, he is notorious for hardly ever reporting in the companies location and status, instead keeping them constantly on the move in their small bus and trying to get resources on their own or from bases they visit along the way.
Commander Nathen "Corvus" Andrews Nate/Corvus is the main villain and Belligerwitch group leader of my The Great Nerf War fanwork.
In the pre-war times, Nate was the sort of guy to get away with pretty much anything due to his influential and powerful father. When the first waves of the Belligerwitch ideology rolled around, Nate saw them as a way to do something different and get into a position of power of his own. As a Belligerwitch leader, he's mostly a tactician and borders on being a cultleader who cares more about the loyalty of his soldiers then the bigger war
Amber Mitchell
Amber was my first OC for The Great Nerf War, although she didn't have a name for the longest time. She's a young and very ambitious Peace-Bull working as a double agent and spying on the Belligerwitch. She was in basic training during the time of the first season and after Donnie McSaint putting in a good word for her, she started her undercover assignment towards the end of season 2. She is friends (as much as her status as a spy allows it) with Deacon and often helps him out with communications which gives her the opportunity to monitor Belligerwitch troupes and get the info out to her fellow bulls at the same time. After doing my first sketch of her design, a friend and fellow TGNW fan pointed out that she looked a little like the girls in the Nerf Rebelle promos and i have fully embraced that in her design since
