I Am Not There, I Did Not Die
When Goose dies, all anyone seems concerned with is how quickly they can get Maverick back in the air and flying like himself again. Ice has a problem with that. He's been there. He knows what it's like to lose someone who is so a part of you that it feels like losing an organ. He knows what repressing and ignoring that grief can do and he can't stand the thought of that happening to someone so full of life as Pete Mitchell. So he makes it his own personal mission to help him cope and heal. Maybe he'll even heal himself along the way.
