I’m having some thoughts today about TGU based on this post, specifically concerning how alien species evolved from predators vs from prey would interact in this type of story
I may never necessarily write anything like this into the official story (I might tho), I just wanted to jot this down for Lore reasons
Humans, obviously, are omnivores, but Eviors (like Azadri) and Kal (like Anivene, and partially Sebastian considering he’s mixed) are both species that evolved from obligate carnivores/mainly carnivorous ancestors. Zomai (like Kiffa) are mainly herbivores, thus likely spent most of their early evolution as prey animals.
I’m envisioning a scene when Max, Az, Bas & Kiffa are on Earth with Gemini and Juno, and somebody’s GMO chickens get out and Max, Azadri and Sebastian are like “WE’LL HELP CATCH THEM!!” and all immediately go into Hunting Mode to simply herd the chickens back into their coop but Kiffa has never seen xer friends act like this before and is just watching them like “why do I feel like some kind of generational trauma was just unlocked? Why am I now terrified?” and just has no idea why it unnerved xem so much until xe realizes “oh, it’s because I’m a prey animal. Right.”
