truth: it’s really dumb but this means a lot to me. see, i’ve been completely obsessed with demi lovato since i was around 11. when i was 13, she was finally going to brazil for 2 concerts for the first time, but they weren’t in my city. i wanted to go REALLY BADLY. i asked my dad if he would take me to rio (a 6h drive - close to us but still) and he said he would give me the tickets but wouldn’t take me. i asked my mom, and she said no. that made me really sad, and then my grandpa saw it, and talked to my dad (who he hadn’t talked to in over 4 years), and said he would take me.the thing is, 2 days before the concert he had to be committed to the hospital, because he had kidney stones. they removed it, no problem. so i told him he wouldn’t need to take me, that he needed to rest and that i understood. but my grandpa somehow always wants to make everyone happy, and even in really strong pain, he drove me to rio for 6 hours, listening to demi’s songs the whole way, and took 13 year old me to a concert with over 5k teenagers, and didn’t complain at all. he was just happy to see me happy
