Normally, it was a fair match, when they went hiking together. Asher and Thad both remained fit, both went out regularly enough that neither was struggling to keep up with the other.
Not so much now, though. Since the mist had settled, Thad had gained a level of endurance beyond Asher's abilities, and Asher in turn seemed to be dehydrating with a pace he struggled to keep up with, stopping to take yet another break, his exhale the only indicator of his frustration. He'd never been one to take out his annoyance on others. If anything, Asher truly wasn't that annoyed about the impact on himself. He could deal with being a little slower than normal, he was in no rush. But being the one to hold other people back got to him, visibly, enough for him to give an apologetic look in his cousin's direction. "Sorry. You can just go ahead, if you want. I might catch up."
