Look at these BOIS! These LADS! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! Commissioned the extremely talented @owlygem for commissions of Matir the Djinn from issue #2 of @jenjoink’s comic Seafoam: A Friend for Madison (he’s a smarmy genie-boi and I stg I am one of his biggest fans) along with my smoky bois (@t-d-rook) from my and @jenjoink’s webcomics @rolt-comic and soon-to-be-appearing in @lastrex-labs-comic-series: the rowdy one, Desmond Rook & local-soft-boye,Thaddeus Rook. I’m in love with that smirk on Desmond and Thaddeus looks like a scruffy prince and I’m LIVING!!!

Look at these ADORABLE CHIBI BEANS (“chibeans”???) of my smoky-bois, Thaddeus Rook and Desmond Rook, that @mayucva made for me out of the blue and pure kindness of his heart! ❤️

Mayu totally did @t-d-rook justice and the longer I look, the more little details I keep finding that sets these two apart, even with this adorable and more simplified design.

H-2. do they prefer summer or winter?

Oh! Thank you, Paper! I didn’t expect anyone to send me an ask! You didn’t mention an OC... but because I love them, I’m answering for my bois, @t-d-rook or Thaddeus Rook and Desmond Rook!

Desmond for sure prefers summer. Sun on his skin, the heat means chicks in more revealing clothes (yes, he’s that type...), and the heat can mean more folks are more quick to anger, which is right up his alley. Let’s not forget the higher likelihood for things to catch on fire in the summer, because, where there’s fire, there’s smoke.

I’m not sure Thaddeus minds either way? He can find things he likes about either season, but I think he might be more partial to summer, because it’s usually nicer weather all around, makes for better swimming weather, and people are generally in better spirits. I know he’d enjoy the stillness winter brings and the fact that more rainy or snowy days means more days that he and Desmond are less likely to be put on the front lines due to their powers. He doesn’t mind staying behind once and a while to help around HQ. Desmond, meanwhile, will be grumbling and groaning until spring turns up to thaw them out.

What's your ideal date?

Thaddeus blinked, cloudy gray eyes widening before they mired in thought and his head tilted to the side. “I-I’m a ch-cheap d-date,” he finally laughed, a thin and raspy sound. “I-I’m up f-for whatever m-makes the oth-ther person h-happy, really. Th-though I r-really like t-to j-just d-do something ch-chill. G-Go t-to her f-favorite food p-place or j-just favorite p-place… g-go for a walk… S-something s-simple.”

Desmond rolled his eyes at Thaddeus’ genuine love of the simple things in life and launched into his answer, figuring it was obviously the more interesting of the two. “At a tavern. Slam some drinks, the good stuff. Skimpy clothes. Flirt. Maybe dance and all that bullshit, y’know, get rowdy. Get a room. Fuck. Then have a little extra fun with her… And then leave with no loose ends to worry about~”

Favorite thing to do when no one's looking

“Actually l-look p-people in th-the eye…” Thaddeus admitted, too shy to even meet the gray anonymous person’s shiny black shades.

“Give ‘em the once over,” Desmond grins, then pauses for thought, blinking. “Then again, I give ‘em the elevator eyes even when they are looking so~”

"How could you do this?"

Thaddeus freezes. A flicker of fear plays behind his gray eyes that have just returned to their softened state. The headache threatening to create a rift in his skull makes his ears ring. The world lurches and his hand flies up to catch his head, where the equilibrium has gone haywire.

Through pinched eyes and clenched teeth, he stammers through the pain.

"I-I… I didn’t m-mean… I-it wasn’t… It w-wasn’t me! I…"

He collapses to his knees, head clutched in both of his long pale hands. His heart is hammering at a dangerous double-time, his breathing shallow and labored. Even more so for the smoke roiling lazily from the surrounding charred remains of the tavern store-front.

Was it just property damage? Had he hurt someone? Or worse…?

He would file it all under collateral damage.

Thaddeus would file it under “G” for “Guilt,” a file that was only growing thicker.

"I… I-I’m s-s-so s-sorry…"
