So, a Thagomizer is the spikey end of Stegosaurian tails. They are literally named after the Far Side comic (pic on left obvs) by Gary Larson. It is just very Brennan to call back to a comic strip from 40yrs ago, that scientists than ran with, to name a dude. Love it.
