This post goes with a sneak-peak of my new fic, here: https://sansinger.tumblr.com/post/633621424685400064/aaaand-heres-the-introductionsneak-peak-for-my
Ah, good old Thalia. Muse of comedy, a genre now full of ironic crackfic. How lovely.
I have always imagined Thalia was good at adapting to the comedy of the current times. What’s humorous when the Divine Comedy was written (which was basically anything not a tragedy) is wildly different from what is considered humorous now. I can’t determine for certain if there is any cause or correlation between Thalia’s own humor and the comedies produced at any given time period (I highly just assume she goes along with the times). Still, I find her a fascinating character.
I always thank Thalia for any sort of comedic ideas I get. So what if it only ends up in a crackfic I make? I love it! I love my jokes and I always thank Thalia for giving me that creativity to come up with the ideas, sometimes I even accredit them to her if I feel they are out-of-this-world amazing. I still see all the wonderful influence in stuff like the Divine Comedy (yes I absolutely loved it).
Now, it may come as somewhat of a shock, but I overall see Thalia as very level-headed and rather scholarly even. I believe every author or artist keeps traces of their original works, and I believe the same in Thalia. Old comedies were still rather solemn, and I absolutely will argue there isn’t a single comedy out there which is pure comedy. That’s just impossible.
My personal relationship with Thalia isn’t very different from one I have with any of my friends. I often spend a lot of time just rambling about my favorite things, usually funny things I find online. And Thalia loves it! It’s super cool and very friendly. 10/10 would absolutely go watch a play with her sometime.
