off the top of your head: notes for characterization? what are the most essential traits of this character to you (personality traits, important connections/dynamics, voice)?
Cruel. Horribly, violently cruel. Cruel to his team and to others, be they Cons or Autobots. A Motormaster who isn't cruel is a Motormaster sanitized and whitewashed to a point that isn't him. The entire dynamic of the team he rules is because of his cruelty. He needs to be cruel to be Motormaster. He may not be cruel outright in the G1 cartoon, but the G1 toon cannot show the totality of his violent nature, even though I believe it is there, hidden. Without his cruelty, his team won't hate him. Without his cruelty, Menasor will function and be the dangerous mech that he truly is. Motormaster is young, narrow minded, angry and violent and he must have those traits or he is not Motormaster.

Not really. Most takes on him are solely fanonized and make him someone whose sole purpose in their fics is as someone who commits sexual assault on the main character of that fic, and nothing else.
I don't like that, and never have enjoyed the fanon version of him. I avoid all fics with him...
throw this character at any other character of your choice to bounce off each other as outsider pov to each other— regardless of timeline or logistics (crossovers allowed if you're interesting about it). why this combination? what insights would they have on each other?
Onslaught. Always Onslaught. I think Onslaught is someone Motors hates in the start but can learn to respect out of seeing how awesome Ons is as a leader, while being an elite soldier, and having the total respect of his team.
I think Onslaught can be a way Motors starts to learn how to be a good leader to his team
ideal flavor of rotating for this character? crack them open and dissect them— do you want them tormented, pining, or being loved + comforted? do you have any specific scenarios you like to think about?
Angst. I love thinking of him with angst specifically, mostly... but also him being taken in and, in a way, adopted and taken under Onslaught's wing and eventually Scrapper's too.
Don't have any thoughts for the other two questions but I love this massive, raging, furious, moody K100 so much.
