1. What is your favourite sentence you’ve ever written? Why?
She could feel the fine layer of grease and she was sure she smelt like fries and dirty water. She took off her uniform and took a lukewarm shower, the pipes making an awful gurgling noise. She got out of the shower feeling a little better and put on her pajamas.
I honestly don’t know why I like this sentence so much. I think it’s because the character (Chloe from Miraculous Ladybug) has hit rock bottom in this fanfiction and describing how filthy and gross she looks makes me feel ‘Chloe knows what it’s like to feel like a normal citizen who has to work to reach her goals. 2. Are there words, phrases, or images that you return to in your writing?
I love looking at pretty landscapes and bright colours before I start writing. It makes me think ‘this character would wear this…’ or ‘if they were here…what would happen?
’ 3. There’s that saying about how good writers just up and steal stuff. Have you ever read anything so good that you just had to have it and put it in what you were writing? What was it? What would you want someone to steal from you?
Well, I don’t think I’ve ever stolen any writing but I’ve defiantly wished that I had written the story BECAUSE IT WAS SO GOOD. Well, I wouldn’t mind if they stole a scene from one of my stories, but there WILL BE HELL IF IT’S A WHOLE STORY OR THE SAME CHARACTERS.
4. Multi-chapter fic or oneshot? When writing multi-chapter (if you do), do you plan everything ahead and then write, or do you just write as you go along?
I used to write a lot of one-shots because of school being so busy and I could write one-shots quickly. I’ve started writing multi-chapter fics and I’m enjoying it
5. What motivates you to continue a fic you’ve already started and shared?
Well, like every writer out there, you always start a story so that people can enjoy it and it will hopefully become popular. But after a while you write for yourself. To prove to yourself that you CAN finish it and that it’s something you can be proud of.
6. Is there anything in your writing you’d like to change or improve?
I’d love to enhance my vocabulary and try to look up at least 5 different words a day that I don’t know and start to use them.
7. Is the fic you like to read the same as the fic you like to write?
Well, I wrote stories because they WERE the ones I wanted to read but after a while you write to learn and enhance your style.
8. How many fandoms do you write for? Are they all for one medium (television, books, film, etc.) or more than one? If more than one, is there a different feeling to writing for one as opposed to another?
Well, my first ever fandom I wrote for was Big Hero Six (Hirogogo) but then I stopped because of school and I wasn’t really feeling motivated anymore, ML took over my life completely and that’s the only fandom I really write for now.
9. Is there something that you want to write that you haven’t yet? What’s stopping you?
Well, I’ve written everything I want so far…but when I start writing what usually stumps me is ‘what’s next?’ sometimes I write and I think this would be awesome, but I can never really think of what should go after that.
10. What’s the one no-good trope that’s #problematic that you just can’t break up with?
I don’t think I’ve ever written a trope before because I think that it’s all been done before and don’t really want a reader thinking ‘I’ve seen this before, it’s going to be so obvious what happens in the end’ but hopefully I’ll be brave enough in future to write a Coffee Shop AU that I’ve always wanted!
