31 years of the ADA

Today we celebrate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

On July 26th they celebrated this important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. As a traveling family of six, we’re passionate about accessibility in the travel industry, I urge you to think about how those with disabilities can gain better access to the beauty of the world around us. My family is committed to providing travel information that makes decisions to explore easier with those with access considerations. ✨🎵 NEW SONG ALERT! 🎶✨ . To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) today, I just dropped “Willing and Able” on Bandcamp, link in bio! . Although I didn’t know the word at the time, as a child, ableism was the first injustice I noticed in the world. I never understood why we couldn’t just embrace all people of all abilities and neurotypes for who they are. Then I grew up and realized that our brutal capitalist world was built by and for able-bodied, neurotypical people, and that world needs to be torn down and rebuilt by and for everyone, and I mean EVERYONE. . All people, regardless of neurotype or ability, have incredible talents, passions and thoughts that should be embraced fully and authentically. No individual is broken; the world is, and even through it might not seem like it all the time, it gets fixed a little bit more every day. The ones for whom this world works the least for will end up being the ones creating the most positive lasting change. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. so aptly put it, “The salvation of the world lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted.” . “Willing and Able” is a rebellious celebration of all people, regardless of how they experience the world.
