Happy birthday, Thao.

You're finally 18! ...right? I'm horrible with ages.

You're one of the only friends I still keep in touch with (somewhat) from home, and goodness. I've known you since middle school, and I'm so glad we've stayed friends all these years. You've seen me at my lowest and at my peak--you're always so happy to see me, and that's the one thing I love the best about you. You have the most adorable, bubbly personality; I don't know how people aren't drawn to you. Out of all of my friends, I find you to be one of the easiest to talk to and I love how even though we go months and months without speaking, we always find a way to pick up where we left off. That's by far the best kind of friendship in my opinion. Anyway, you're one step closer to stepping out into the real world and being slapped with a reality that high school (especially Plano East) definitely does not prepare you for. Anyway, I hope you have the best birthday and that you're rolling in college admission letters the next time I see you. Early congratulations on your graduation this year and early congratulations on sticking with IB in high school! I'm proud of you, and I hope we never, ever, ever stop being friends. I can see it already--you're definitely going to be a bridesmaid at my wedding. Happy birthday, Thao! I love you. <3
