people know that the artemis 2 mission has been in the works since 2017, right? that the rocket itself was first proposed back in 2013 for a completely different mission and then, when that first mission was cancelled (again, in 2017), they pivoted to a lunar flyby instead so the money and time wasn't wasted. right?

like i understand the criticisms about where the actual physical materials are sourced and how that ties in to imperialism. and i agree there needs to be reform. but the mission itself is not a distraction from everything trump is doing.

also this may just be because i don't follow astronomers on tumblr specifically but like. do the people who are mad about the emissions and materials care about the emissions and materials from ISRO and JAXA and ESA launches and the unmanned NASA launches that have already happened this year?

Okay but the fact that Ctimene has to watch her brother reunite with his wife and son, get his small little family back together and just knowing that Eurylocus isn't at his side so she knows he must be dead. She knows she won't get to see her husband, won't get that oh so sweet reunion that Penelope had with Odysseus.

No she has to live with the knowledge that her husband is dead, that she doesn't even know when he died, how he died, there is no body to bury, nothing is left of him anymore she won't get the happy ending Ody does.

And, worst of all, the jealousy she has for her brother, for Penelope must make her feel so guilty. She's so bitter but her brother is alive and really she should be happy, thrilled that her brother is alive but all she can do is mourn her husband, her brothers arrival was only a confirmation that she was a widow, alone for good now.

She won't get that happy ending, it was never meant for her.
