Okay, so, there’s a worldbuilding implication of the Mandalorian that I have just NOT been able to let go of.
Our protagonist is hanging out on a planet that is NOT Tatooine.
And there ARE Jawas.
In the same tank thing! On two different planets there are...tribes? of Jawas wandering around, hanging out in a massive tank, and scavenging whatever they can get their hands on.
How did this happen?
Is there a Jawa home planet? Does Jawoondia or wherever send out colony ships that consist of ‘find a likely world and drop a tank on it?’
Can you just imagine being the planetary governor or whoever getting that call? “Ma’am, I’ve got terrible news. We’ve received reports...there’s a Jawa infestation. Three tanks dropped on the planet yesterday.”
Is each tank-tribe independent? Or do they call and chat: “Yeah bro, you won’t believe it, a droid I scavenged a few years back just showed up on the holonet next to the new Chancellor. Weird, right? Definitely him, though, I’d recognize that horrible little astromech anywhere. How’s your day?”
“Eh, good and bad. Found an abandoned ship, turns out it wasn’t abandoned. Frank got vaporized. The dude came back and chilled with us, though. He was pretty neat. Got us an egg. We gave him his stuff back, after that.”
“An egg! Sweet. Love those things. Too bad about Frank, tho.”
I just...have so many questions.
