Hey, I bought my little brother Dave a T'ird. He threw it off the roof about a month ago, and it's yet to come back. What do I do? We don't want to go back to playing regular old boring "Flight Wheel".

OOC: I hope you don't mind me asking (because I'm sure plenty of others have), but how did you make your Jake gas mask? Or did someone else make it?

It's ok I don't mind! :)

I made it in basically 2 parts; I disassembled a respirator mask from a hardware store (Jake's gas mask has filters that look more like a respirator mask than an actual gasmask) I took it apart, painted the rubber base and filter cartridges, then reattached them to a basic base mask that I painted. The black eye frames are frames from a big pair of goggles that I sanded into rectangles and then put on.

OOC: Do you have any inspiring words for those who want to cosplay, yet they feel as if they shouldn't?

Not really sure if I can be inspiring haha but basically I feel if someone has an interest to cosplay they should definitely go for it. Cosplay honestly I feel is about having fun. It's an activity for every kind of person at every kind of skill set. The main reason I cosplay is to express my love and feelings about a character or series. A bonus in my case is that I sew and such and so it's also a fun hobby for me because I get to do that as well. And of course getting to dress up with friends makes it even more worthwhile.So, if you want to cosplay but feel you shouldn't you really need to ask yourself why. And be honest to yourself; are you nervous about what others think, or think you won't look good, or are comparing youself ect? What really matters is if you enjoy doing it. The only time I've ever thought badly of a cosplayer was for their bad attitude/personality. Basically the same way I judge any person I come across. I understand the pressure that can be in the air especially on social sites that make cosplay seem so competitive. But you can't do things to please others, only strive to please yourself. If you put effort into your cosplay, it'll show. It doesn't matter your skill level. If you don't like how something looks on you try and change it until you are comfortable/happy with it. I've totally revamped cosplays after first wearing them because I personally didn't like something about them. You don't have to sew to cosplay, I have plenty of friends who commission costumes or do cosplays they can piece together from existing items and they look great. But if you want to sew, there are tons of tutorials and you just have to learn and practice. As a general thing, I feel if someone wants to start cosplaying they should first start with a costume they think will make them feel good/comfortable to wear. Whether it be because of the character, fit, or knowing it's something you feel confident in putting together. If you feel happy wearing your costume then you'll have fun, and really that's all that matters.
