I was an ass
This post is a public apology to @kumquatwriter and the other folks I blasted yesterday. My intent was not to attack anyone but to defend a person I call friend from what I saw as unwarranted attacks. I was more than a little overzealous in my defense and I pissed off and hurt a lot of people. Please accept my sincere apologies. I was an asshole of the first degree. I could come up with many fine excuses but nothing excuses the fact that my words hurt people my friend had hurt before. I stuck my nose into a subject about which I am not completely up to speed and I made an idiot of myself. While I stand by the sentiment of what I said, my actions and the way I went about it were deplorable. I am sorry.
To the anons I have treated with less than cordiality, I too, apologize for that. Let me just say this, while I am not perfect, I am someone who greatly respects courage. I am not a fan of the “anon shield” (for lack of a better phrase). I prefer when someone comes to me directly with an issue. However, I realize that many of you have been severely hurt and do not wish to open yourselves up to being hurt again. Going forward, I will do my level best to not be an ass to the anons. Please accept my sincere apologies for treating you less than respect.
