I'll Be Forever His, And He'll Be Forever Mine.
A/N - This is the Joe Sugg imagine that was requested, I’m sorry it’s so late! Enjoy :) GENRE - Fluff Warnings - One Swear (‘Hell’) // Hey, [Y/N]!“ I heard a cheerful voice greet me as I sipped on the remainder of my tea, no longer having to be careful so as to not to scald my tongue. I sighed.
"Joe, you are literally sitting in the room right next to mine, you could’ve just come over instead of calling me, you idiot,” I said into the phone. I brought my knees up to my chest, keeping my now-empty cup of tea on the windowsill in front of me. Sitting in a very comfortable armchair, I looked out of the window, smiling slightly at the beautiful sight that lay before my eyes.
I was currently in Dubai, enjoying the moderately warm weather in October. Being on holiday with my family, I had finally been able to take some time off from school, getting some well deserved rest after the immense amount of caffeine I’d consumed in the last three months, trying to top my class in screenwriting.
I was a student at the New York Film Academy, and considered myself extremely lucky to have gotten in, not having to plead for days on end. Being an extremely lazy 21 year old, the only way I managed to have food on my table was by (reluctantly) working as a barista at the Starbucks closest to the campus, so I could squeeze in some working hours in-between classes. The manager thankfully understood my dilemma and let me have flexible hours, provided that I work for at least 4 hours a day.
And that is where I met Joe Sugg.
I had been wiping a table when he came in, hoodie up, hands shoved deep into his pockets, and looked around a bit before cautiously lowering his hood.
Looking back on it, I think he had missed me, the lone worker there, at that time. I wouldn’t blame him, the table I had been cleaning was right at the back of the little Starbucks outlet, almost invisible to everyone who entered. Sitting on a chair, he leaned back, and finally looked up to see me. That was when I noticed his piercing blue eyes.
Along with that extremely handsome feature of his, he had limp, dirty-blonde hair, and a very lean figure. He had an amazingly sharp jawline, but something which would fail to cut through the awkward tension when he saw me. He must’ve thought that I recognised him, but no, I didn’t.
20-year-old me just knew who iiSuperwomanii and Ryan Higa were. Yeah, I wasn’t as obsessed with YouTubers as I am now, which is weird, seeing as I meet YouTubers almost every month and I can’t help but fangirl.
His eyes widened as I made my way over to him to take his order, seeing as he was very reluctant to come up to the counter and order.
“Good afternoon, what may I get for you?” I asked, trying to be polite.
“You don’t know who I am?” He asked. I rolled my eyes.
“As much as I’m trying to be polite here, you may be famous on the campus of your college, but not everyone knows you. What would you like to order?” I asked. He grinned.
“Oh, well, I don’t mind. And I’d like a Grandè Caramel Frappé, thanks,” He said, flashing me a lopsided grin. I nodded and gave him a small smile, walking back to make his Frappé.
(A/N - Guys I live in India so I have no idea what kind of drinks there are at Starbucks. I’m just making them up.)
“That’ll be $3.99,” I said, handing him his coffee. He grinned at me again.
Mister How-Do-You-Not-Know-Me, back at it again with the lopsided grin which made my heart skip a beat.
“I’m Joe,” he said, extending his hand. I shook it.
“[Y/N].”
“Nice to meet you, [Y/N]. I’m Joe SUGG,” He said, arching his eyebrows.
“Oh, nice to meet you, Joe SUGG. I’m [Y/N] [Y/L/N],” I said, putting emphasis on my last name, like he had. He laughed.
“You don’t get it, do you? I’m Joe Sugg, also known as ThatcherJoe on YouTube,” He said, eyes glittering.
“Oh, really?” I said, faking a smile. His eyes lost their twinkle.t
“You don’t think much of me, do you?” He murmured, quietly. My eyes widened as I shook my head.
“No! It’s not that! It’s just that, I mean- I haven’t heard of you. Ever,” I said. “My friend keeps raving about a Joe and Caspar, though. Are you that Joe?” I asked. His eyes got that twinkle back into them.
“Yes, I’m that Joe, and Caspar is my best friend,” He said. I slowly nodded.
“That’ll be $3.99,” I said again, pointing to his drink. He took his wallet out and placed a crisp $5 bill on the table.
“Keep the change, I’m a tourist anyways,” He said as I started to reach in the pocket of my apron for change. I smiled gratefully at him.
“Thank you, Joe!” I said. He laughed and brushed it off with a 'No Problem!’.
“By the way,” He said, causing me to look up from my place at the counter.
“As I said, I’m a tourist, and haven’t really seen any of the sights here in New York. Care to be my guide?” His eyes shone with hope. I shrugged.
“Sure, why not? You free in Sunday?” I said, and he grinned wide, nodding. We put our numbers into each other’s phones, and he left.
That was the start of a beautiful relationship. // Three days later, it being a holiday for me and him not having gone to Central Park with me yet - it was supposed to be the first place we went to, but ended up being last after he insisted on visiting Rockfeller Center, the Empire State Building, the Art Museums and The Statue Of Liberty first - we were sat on the green grass under a tree enjoying some ice-cream in the hot and sunny day. We were sitting in comfortable silence when he asked me a question-
“So, where in England are you from?” I looked at him, surprised, since I had never told him that I was from England.
“I’m from Berkshire, and how the hell did you know I’m from England? I’ve been here in the USA for a long time now, I definitely don’t have an English accent,” I said, making him smile.
“The accent isn’t that obvious, but there is an English undertone underneath your American accent. You don’t say words like most Americans do - there is a slight English accent there whenever you speak,” He said. “Also, I’ve been paying attention whenever you speak, because I find the way you say the words in a half American-half English way fascinates me.” I laughed.
“It 'fascinating’, you say?” I ask him, amused. He visibly blushed.
“Yes, it is, just like you are,” He said, and then clamping a hand on his mouth. I, too, felt heat rush up to my cheeks, and stared down at my hands as he tried to make amends to what he had said. I interrupted him.
“Hey, don’t worry, I find you fascinating too, and, if I may add, very handsome, charming and funny.”
“That’s a lot coming from such a beautiful girl,” He said, looking me on the eye.
I nervously giggled.
And then he kissed me.
It was like the world around us never even existed - it melted away as he put his lips onto mine, and I felt the butterflies in my stomach go crazy. I just sat rigid in front of him, eyes wide open, before my shock dissolved and melted away, like I did, into the kiss.
And that was how I fell indescribably in love with Joe Sugg, and how I was now his girlfriend.
//
Oh, I couldn’t help but wait to graduate from college in three weeks, after I was done with my exams and spend some more time with him. Sometimes, I worried if he wouldn’t wait for me and leave to be with another, much more prettier, girl, who could make time to Skype or call him, or even meet him, go on dates with him. My thoughts were then interrupted by a knock on the door.
“Hey, [Y/N], you okay? You just went silent on the phone so I decided to come over,” Joe said, lightly kissing my lips, sending the butterflies in my stomach into a frenzy yet again.
It had been a year, and yet, the butterflies hadn’t died down.
“Yeah, I’m okay. I just spaced out - you know how I get, Joe,” I said, falling down onto my bed. He laughed and lay down beside me, already looking like he was ready for bed. I felt my eyes droop immediately, enjoying the warmth that radiated from Joe, my back against his chest, his head nestled in the crook of my neck. I was almost asleep, when I felt a cold, metal band slide onto my ring finger. My eyes shot open.
“Marry me?” He said, as tears of joy sprung onto my eyes. I turned around and kissed him passionately.
“I love you,” I said, still crying. He kissed my forehead.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” he said.
“[Y/N], I know, we’re only 21, but I love you, and in this one year, it has been total bliss for me, being with you, and I know: I don’t want to be with anyone besides you,” He said.
“I’m looking forward to being known as [Y/N] Sugg,” I said, turning back around and closing my eyes.
And in that moment, before I fell completely asleep, I felt two last things- Joe’s gigantic smile against the crook of my neck, and joy.
I’ll be forever his, and he’ll be forever mine.
