Vee’s tires slammed down onto the road. Their passenger yelped, her hands gripping the seatbelt tight as her alternate laughed.
“BLADES!” The vehicle dodged without a care, only serving to further scare the young human in their interior. Green lights burned in a trail behind the reckless vehicle as the two soared. Why Writer had even agreed to meet with this alternate was beyond her.
“GET READY!!! WOOOOOO!!!” Vee screamed with joy as they hit the gas. Writer screeched. The two surged forward. Behind them, the road was cut and broken to pieces, segments flying as The Virus raced forward behind them. They had only a few seconds on it. Red, corrupted veins of power soared overhead, arcing for the nearest gate. “OH NO Y’DON’T!” The road undertire snapped. Vee fell into the open stars. Writer was white as a sheet, about ready to pass out from shock.
The doors snapped open. Green light burst from within. A flaming tornado of energy appeared out of the trunk of the car. Writer was slammed into the black seat. Her eyes were glued open. Adrenaline surged in her veins. Vee laughed, spinning a wide circle before righting. They were closing in on the gate. The code blasted back. Vee dodged with a level of experience granted only to experts. They seemed to nearly weave like an eagle between each onslaught.
“THAT THE BEST YOU CAN-” Something crashed right through them. Functions in half their systems went up in flames. Vee started spinning. Writer had passed out. They were maybe a thousand feet from the gate. Without the other half of their body, Vee wasn’t flying right. They spiraled, just barely managing to keep a straight line. The Virus behind them roared. Vee slammed down their accelerator with as much power as they could muster. The flames they had left burst with Hellfire. They went falling through the gate with The Virus eating the fire’s sparks. It exploded not a second later.
Vee could not control their descent, wherever they were now. They knew it wasn’t their dimension, that much was obvious.
“WRITER!” No response. They were going to crash...! The seatbelt on the unconscious human tightened, and Vee slammed into the ground below with an earth-shaking crash. The last of their fuel supply sputtered and died out. Their windows were all broken, the only wing they had snapped clean in half... And Writer was now laying on their hood, blood trickling from a wound on her forehead. Her shirt was torn, and it seemed that some glass had managed to stab into the woman’s arm. Already, bruises were starting to form on what skin Vee could see. She was maybe an inch away from coming into contact with burning hot, molten metal. “Crapcrapcrapcrap...!”
Vee tried to start their engine back up. There was a choked sputter, but no flames.
“No... No no no no!” They were starting to panic now.
