Research on Site and Brief
Upon completing research on the Northshore site and brief, several answers to key pieces of information have become clear. These are outlined below:
- Northshore’s vision is to create a place that inspires new ways of engaging and interacting with the world. This will be done by transforming the riverside urban renewal precinct into a thriving waterfront tourism destination, residential community, business enterprise and innovation hub.
- Northshore’s distinct features include the site’s Indigenous and industrial port heritage; and its relationship to the Brisbane River and surrounding areas.
- The target audience and demographic for this project must include everyone and anyone. This includes new and current residents, destination visitors and tourists, tenants, and developers. All ages, genders, ability levels and races must be encompassed in the scope of the project.
- Northshore’s competitive pillars refer to open access, expansive engagement, enriched experiences, ground-breaking attractions, industrious character, innovative ecosystem, natural lifestyle, and established momentum. At least one of these pillars should be addressed in the creative project.
