i was creepin around on fb because i didn't want to thesis

girl at home who basically right out of high school married the thirty-something youth group leader person at church last june found out she pregnant in december

there are lots of things i find questionable about this whole arrangement

i dunno i feel like the age difference wouldn't bother me so much if she weren't just out of high school and the whole situation would somehow look better if they hadn't been in a situation where he was in a position of authority over her in the church at some point...

maybe i've been socialized to think if the age gap is that big it couldn't have been completely... on equal footing. i don't know if i even know what i mean. maybe i feel like there was some degree of coercion or something or something and it's probably just me being stupid

or maybe i just am subconsciously associating this with past sex scandals in the church (i mean in general churches, not just this particular one), which isn't exactly fair

but *~love has no boundaries~* or whatever yeah i guess if you wanna marry someone you just wanna marry them and nothing should really get in your way but i don't know, i wouldn't have gotten into that situation if someone paid me

because even if the relationship hadn't been going on for very long before marriage, you still have a high schooler and a 30something. i'm just not sure how there is common ground in a relationship like that... maybe she is unusually mature or something. i don't know.

but mostly imagining having a child inside of you when you're like 19 years old and you don't even know what being a person means is terrifying to me and i can't wrap my brain around the reasons why someone would choose that life (well i kind of can understand but at the same time i just can't)
