This was my first quilt show entry! My friend, @redejordan, gave me fourteen different fat quarters for my fourteenth birthday and this was the outcome! I decided I wanted to enlarge the traditional pinwheel block and practice my piecing. I had no idea my quilt closely resembled the actual Pinwheel Galaxy when I was finished! I’m more than a little obsessed with these chocolate Lisianthus. Such an unusual color & such chameleons! Paired with chocolate ribbon & dark wine scabiosa as in this wearable (a petite design that could be a corsage or boutonnière) the blooms appear much more cocoa in color. We incorporated the same flower into a tea party palette of soft mauve, pink & gray and they appeared very rosy.
