This stunning ranunculus is exactly the color of the tempranillo we drank last night after winding down for Mother's Day. (And yes we drank the whole bottle!) These beauties came to us from Hammelmans, a fabulous farm in Oregon, that we discovered in our ongoing search for small family flower farms. The shipment was one of many wonderful treats during this holiday, our 13th Mother's Day at EG! New members of our EG family blended happily with our longtime crew to pull out all the stops for what was our biggest holiday yet (other than V-day 2019). Having customers come to us year after year (some for all 13) to find fun flower gifts for Mom is the exact reason we opened English Garden. Warren and I grew up in our family's flower shops and learned from our folks that it is an incredible gift and responsibility to be entrusted with a customer's flower order. Sure people might say "It's only flowers" but to us it means that someone is coming to us to help find the right "words" to convey love, loss, happiness, appreciation and more emotions than I can list. There are few occasions when that means as much as on Mother's Day. So to our friends who shared another holiday with us and to new friends who let us share in a surprise for Mom for the first time, THANK YOU!! from our little EG family to yours! Thank you for making us your flower shop and letting us celebrate this Mother's Day with you!
