April 15th- That Sucks Day
Rather like a self-fulfilling prophecy, That Sucks Day came around with a grumpy, surly, moody edge. Nothing was going right and I just couldn't put my finger on why. But at least I had something to blame- the day that had been assigned to 'celebrate' April 15th.
Today doesn't have a bad reputation for no reason- it's the day that Lincoln was shot, the Titanic sunk, the Hillsborough disaster happened, the volcano in Iceland erupted- causing volcanic ash to block a lot of Europe's airspace, the day of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Coincidence? Well, probably, yes. But still, it rather does set a precedent for the day, doesn't it? Now, I'm not saying my day of inconvenience and moodiness and over-work and pushy fellow commuters compares to the nightmares I listed above. But I'm just saying that when things went wrong today, I let myself wallow for a little bit, instead of forcing jollity and gaiety when it was truly the last thing I wanted to do.
Tomorrow- Eggs Benedict Day!
