head tilts at an odd angle at the faux nurse's words, fingers picking at the edge of the hospital blanket partially covering him where he half-sits, half-lies on the narrow bed. absentmindedly rubbing the fabric together. again, and again. meg appears bothered, so castiel's eyes unfocuses for a moment ; attempting to listen to something far away. blue hues drift past her, toward the door, then the ceiling. then nowhere at all.
' sleep is . . . inefficient. ' voice quiet as he speaks, ' every time i close my eyes, i can hear your voice. you're singing to me, it's very beguiling ─ but distracting. ' gaze shifts back to the demon, movement of his fingers ceasing as he folds his hands atop blanket.
' you're brooding. ' castiel repeats gently. then he murmurs, almost to himself, ' there's something wrong. the air is . . . buzzing. like a housefly trapped in a bottle. ' a pause. ' but if you tell me not to worry, then i won't. ' he stops himself there, letting the silence linger between them for a moment. it feels nice. the angel shifts slightly, mouth quirking as he gives a nod toward the magazine in her grasp. hand sluggishly moving to point in the same direction. ' are you finding anything of interest ? '
