Edit Canvas EP Release Show
I went to the self titled EP release of Edit Canvas' this past Thursday and wow was it a great night. There were two opening acts. I didn't catch the first one but the second one, Sleep For Dreaming, put on a great show with so much energy. You could see they enjoyed playing music, especially in the drummer! I also had a chance to speak with most of them after the show and they were so kind. Now to the main performance of the night, Edit Canvas. I have to say when I first heard Edit Canvas' stuff I did not care for it, but after seeing them live I can't get them out of my head. They have such a unique sound. It is really incredible to me that a local band makes such great music. I didn't have a chance to buy their EP, but plan on it once I get the money and definitely recommend you do too.
The theme for the next Earworms podcast is gonna be "home," and I'd like to pepper it with soundbites from folks about living in/moving back to Amarillo and whatever home means to them. I'll be at the 806 at 8pm tomorrow (Thursday) with a recorder if you'd like to add a word or two. Also, if you guys are big into an Amarillo/Texas band, I'd love to hear about it. My goal is to have the bulk of the music on Earworms be local/regional.
