its the last day of January and ive been drunk since August.

my mom thinks its because i work too much.

if i had a dollar for every “youre drinking gives me second thoughts” that ive heard from people im romantically interested in i’d buy a bottle of whiskey.

that song by kid rock and sheryl crow keeps playing over and over in my head. “he put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger.” im 27. i think about mortality too much.

i regret a lot. most things, probably.

this is my grandfather. he is a triplet born in the 1930s or 40s. im so bad at remembering that sort of thing. he had two sisters that were nearly identical, at least to me. Minnie Dee, Winnie Ree, and Billy Lee. the final triplet, Minnie, died from Covid-19 this week. an entire generation coming to a close. im very sad.

ive become less popular with gatekeepers and influencers. the door guy at the homeless shelter knows me though, because he sees me daily. i bring extra meals on wheels plates to them.

and i met a woman named April earlier. shes 34, a diabetic, and far from home. her phones been dead for 3 days because she thinks someone stole her phone charger at the salvation army. thing is, she’s probably right.

not to mention the amount of working class people that i surround myself with. i havent put on a front in weeks and it feels so good.

i am concerned about the long game. fuck popularity today when my actions can make tomorrow better for more people.

im going to leave an impact.
