when it comes to 1x, i feel as if a lot of folks don't actually consider what he is. he's some sort of inpenetrable wall. he's a bad guy, but we don't know what he is at all. the necrobloxicon gives you a good enough description to work with (as well as all the fearmongering when it was going around). 1x1x1x1, or "the adversary", is like a satan-esque figure given the blogpost we got from mrdoombringer, but we don't actually know what he does. (unless you're talking about the classic event boss fight, which in that case ... he appears in a green fog and chases you around in a circle).

so to really tie things together, i wanted to have a weapon that went hand in hand with what 1x, in my personal verse, actually is. if 1x is a being of the 4th dimension (capable of seeing all forms of time) (adopting the general idea of what the 4th dimension is), then he'd need a tool to "reap" the 3d plane. the daemonshank is this weapon.

it was a little hard for me to pinpoint exactly what i wanted to do with it. when i first made a ref for him, if you're here from twitter, you'd know i gave him the dual venomshanks because that's kind of what everyone was giving him at the time. then i actually read the character encyclopedia. they give him a darkheart there. why not merge them both, given that the sword takes the suffix of "-shank"? both weapons seem up his alley anyway. so i did that.
