I have a few versions of the "Ael" character that have evolved since Aelred's birth in like....... 2007.
Aelred Northstorm was originally a pilot character in a desert punk AU. He was short sighted, agorgant, and dyslexic. He has super speed. He was created as a romantic foil and bestie for my OC Robin Dycehart, but they were never meant to end up together.
Sir Aelred Northstrum is a bashful, shy knight. Like many of the Aels, he is possessed by the primordial demon, Urodela. Unlike the others, he was raised by monks who took him in when he was very young. He uses self discipline to keep the demon under control and prevent the power from overtaking him completely. He is very timid and soft spoken, and a bit of a rule-follower, but he is loyal and kind and a fierce warrior.
Prince Aelric Northstorm/Roisin/Bowen, the Red Prince, Aelric of Many Names. He is a piece of shit, and I created him to be a villain. He is my horny, dominating, manipulative, bad boy. He knows what he wants and he'll do whatever (or whoever) to get it. In his very he is in possession of the Urodela, and he controls her through sex, drugs, self harm and exercise. At the beginning of his story he loves the power she gives him over others. He grew up very spoilt and disconnected from others, so he has a very hard time making friends.
King Aelfons is Aelric's father. He is a powerful man who commands respect, even from the demon inside of him. He uses his power sparingly, but devastatingly. He ruled over his kingdom for many decades before his murder.
Aelita Northstorm is Aelric's great, great Aunt. She disappeared one day with their family sword, Betrayer, and stories of her adventures were burried and hidden from the rest of their family to disuade anyone imitating her. She travelled as far as Baldorcha where she met with a dangerous vampire, who became her platonic soul mate. Together they travelled the continent before her passing of a ripe old age. She became known for her trail of lovers and broken hearts, her fearlessness in battle, and her affinity for gambling and games of chance.
Aelwyn Northstorm/Bowen is Aelric's daughter. Nobody knows who her mother is. She is wild and untameable. By the time she is born Aelric has been completely taken over by the Urodela, and it is only when he is around Wynnie that Aelric returns to the surface. She is favoured by the fae by her cleverness and determination. She is short sighted, but goal oriented, and isn't afraid of anything. She is a stewart of the demon's crown, but it is unknown (yet) if she becomes it's host.
Aelix (Alex) Bowen is the urban fantasy Ael. He is a cab driver, body guard, and collections agent. He was raised by the fae and loathes magic in all it's forms, and in no small part because he is unable to escape it. Faeries are in his car, his apartment, and his business. Unlike his predecessors he has no one to guide him on how to control the Urodela, so he does so through self given tattoos, bar fights, and drag races. He is a miserable person who is BUUURDENED by existence, and could use some lightening up.
