No idea why but like all the 2000s bands are posting new songs again
In like the last three weeks there's been new tracks from Simple Plan, New Found Glory, Goldfinger, Good Charlotte, The Ataris, Avril Lavigne, Alkaline Trio, Yellowcard, Three Days Grace, MCR
With promises of new albums coming from most of them in the next couple of months as well.
The Ataris- So Long, Astoria
Although I feel like this album was a step back from their previous 2, I still enjoy it. Obviously, this is their biggest album. It’s ironic that their biggest hit was a cover song when they were known for how great their lyrics were.

Rating Bands I Saw At Riot Fest
So it's been a couple days since I was at Riot Fest on Sunday and the post-festival depression is kicking my ass right now (Chicago how I miss you). So I'm going to rank the bands I saw there bc I can <3
Footballhead

So Footballhead was a band I was aware about via my friend, and they mostly knew about it due to Adam Siska being a former member. And honestly? They fucking rock.
Idk why but they reminded me a bit of Sing The Sorrow-era AFI and just the more angsty 90s emo/alt rock sound. 8/10
Chase Petra
Another band I was really into. They also were fucking amazing too. Just really good pop punk/pop rock. 8/10, I love women in punk <3
Delta Sleep
Another band I didn't know much about. Apparently they started in the 4th wave emo/emo revival scene but quickly ditched emo for more of a math rock sound. They weren't bad, they just weren't my thing honestly. 6/10.
The Artaris
God I love 90s Pop Punk. The Ataris played the entirety of their album 'So Long Astoria' and it RIPPED. The entire set was crazy as well, insane mosh pits, a shit ton of crowd surfers, a dude wearing an inflatable dinosaur costume that was also crowd surfing. Just chaotic fun honestly 9/10.
Gym Class Heroes
PEAKKKKKKK. Even though Travie's set was delayed bc of technical issues that Hanson had, bro went CRAZY with it. Shout out to him saying to impeach the president and how millionaires suck. 9/10.
Cobra Starship
BRO I GOT TO SEE SNAKES ON A PLANE WITH TRAVIE AND WILLIAM DOING THEIR PARTS HOLY SHITTTTT. Besides that and having a couple songs cut for time, they were INSANEEEEEEEE. Gabe jumping around like that while being the same age as my mom is genuinely crazyyy. Plus he talked to (and got a photo with) my friend Barrett. Such a fun set. 10/10
The Academy Is...
9/10. They were also REALLY REALLY good, but I did see them the day and they played basically the same setlist but still REALLY good like omg.
Bands I Saw For a Little Bit During Riot Fest
Microwave
Microwave is an emo band from Georgia and I saw/heard a bit of their set while getting food and DAMN did they sound good.
The Paradox
Now technically, I didn't see The Paradox at Riot Fest, I saw them as an opener for TAI at the concert before Riot Fest but like..... I'm still adding them on here bc they sounded SOOOOO GOODDDD. Genuinely some of the better sound modern pop punk I've heard in a while. I went insane when they played Cute With The E.
Green Day
although we didn't stay for their entire set (left bc we knew getting an Uber at the end would've been hard), they sounded REALLY good live. Them randomly playing the opening riff of Black Sabbath's Iron Man and acting like nothing happened is so...... Green Day of them honestly. Loved them downnnn.
