my character from a campaign of The Between, a PbtA victorian horror ttrpg which i think is really neat

cordelia de hautdesert is the scion to a long, distinguished line of monster hunters that-- supposedly-- stretches so far back into deep antiquity that the romans are seen as gauche newcomers to britain. that's the family lore, anyway, but given that that family lore involves encounters with the sort of matter-of-britain-ass pseudohistorical figures like 'trojan brutus' or 'king lud' born out of geoffrey of monmouth's fever dreams, well, take it with a grain of salt. in any case, the hautdeserts have been hunting monsters as long as anyone remembers.
