Virginia Grey (March 22, 1917 – July 31, 2004) Radio, film and television actress who appeared in over 100 films and a number of radio and television shows from the 1930s to the early 1980s.

In 1951, Grey portrayed Blanche Bickerson on the syndicated comedy TV series The Bickersons. She was a regular on television in the 1950s and 1960s, appearing on Playhouse 90, U.S. Marshal, General Electric Theater, The DuPont Show with June Allyson, Your Show of Shows, Red Skelton, Wagon Train ("The Kate Parker Story", "The Major Adams Story"), Bonanza, Marcus Welby, M.D., Love, American Style, Burke's Law, The Virginian, Peter Gunn, Ironside and many others.  (Wikipedia)

Created by Philip Rapp, John and Blanche Bickerson first appeared in sketches on The Chase and Sanborn Hour before they moved to their own program. Don Ameche and Frances Langford starred as the perpetually feuding John and Blanche, whose fiercest arguments always seemed to sprout up in the middle of the night. Blanche attacked John’s atrocious snoring, while John needled his wife over her shortcomings as a housekeeper. Their verbal sparring matches played out like this: Blanche: You think it’s true, don’t you?

John: What’s true?

Blanche: I’m beginning to look like an old hag.

John: You are not beginning to look like an old hag. Dreme Time featured songs from Langford and comedy routines featuring Ameche, Langford, and Danny Thomas before switching over to a mini-episode starring the Bickersons: “The Honeymoon is Over.” The series aired on NBC until June 1947 before it moved to CBS for runs in 1948 and 1951. A short-lived television series followed, along with recordings of Ameche and Langford recreating their famous skits.
