Since May, since the warehouse had been blacklisted as a hiding place, Peeta and Haymitch had been extra cautious with the never ending flow of refugees. As Peeta had pointed out that day in the café, the news coming from Bordeaux weren’t good at all.
More and more people wanted to cross the demarcation line, to cross the borders towards Spain or Portugal, trying to escape the iron fist the German were keeping the French population. Which meant more and more sleepless nights for Peeta, who started to have shadows under his eyes, to yawn at work, which elicited some snarky comments from Crane.
