One girl wanted for Sonic to change, to stop adventuring and helping others. She wanted to have a future with Sonic, even if for that to happen, others - including children like Tails and Amy - would continue to fight a war and put their lives at risk so the princess could live happily ever after with Sonic. But this was a price Sonic could never accept... and for that, he got slapped:
The other girl, she wanted for Sonic to return and fight with the resistance once more. Did Sonic got slapped as well for daring to be himself? No. The pink girl realized that she could not change him... She didn't want to because whom Sonic is, and how he lives by his pwn rules is the very reason she loves him. And when the pink girl is offered the rare chance to be together, something she had dreamed about for so very long, she kindly refuses his invitation for she cannot ignore the pleads of help of all the people in distress who depend on her:
Funny how these two scenarios are diametric opposites of each other... And who the better girl was is something not even up to discussion, because clearer than the water this cannot further be.
