An important reminder on this #InternationalWomensDay
the most miserable little guy to ever exist </3
Please make the oh-so-terrible sacrifice of accepting a promotion that offers you more money, prestige and power than any other job in the city. And if it will help you with the suffering, you'll not only be a positive role model for little girls all over this country, but I personally will feel very... I will feel very proud to have a Chief that I can truly admire.
THE CLOSER S06E09 - last woman standing
You know, for someone who worked Internal Affairs most of her career, you're really sneaky. [The Closer Edition]
New Fic Alert
For Every Sunset - Chapter 1
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Something extremely funny and sad that happens in every episode of The Closer. A character will say something deeply emotionally vulnerable to Brenda Leigh Johnson. Sometimes it's a suspect, sometimes someone related to the victim, sometimes someone close to Brenda.
And she does not register it in that way at all. She just sort of stares into the distance as she slides in the crucial missing piece of the puzzle. And then she just fucking dips without responding. You can't say anything meaningful to her she will not acknowledge it. She WILL use it to solve the murder.
And I know this is a thing in detective shows (I suppose also medical shows) where the detective gets inspiration from something someone says offhand. But I think it's so funny she doesn't bother to explicate this to anybody. Her boyfriend will be talking about the cat and she will stare into space in silence and then book it to the interrogation room. The victim's mom will be tearfully telling her she wouldn't understand the lengths family will go to to protect each other and Brenda will gaze over her shoulder completely not giving a shit. She's in her mind palace fuck off. Sorry you can't have your moment of human connection. The Closer is Closing her case.
Everyone on the subreddit fucking hates her but she's the Gregory House of procedural cop shows
They sing the praises of the male characters so I can only surmise that it's because she's a woman
Every mystery series I have watched, ranked:
(of which there are many)
**This is my personal opinion, not what I think the rankings should be for everyone :)**
