There was a sudden thunk against the window!
Xinalith blinked a couple of times at the sound, the demon turning to look at the window. Raising a brow, they stood from their desk before approaching it, opening the window up.
Living, breathing, and dying for @mistercesare’s prohibitedwish roleswap au. Take some fanart.
anon I’m deciding whether or not to post your ask (I disagree with you but also I post asks I disagree with all the time, lol) but what this boils down to is that adults are reading a fictional series designed for middle schoolers and expecting to get advanced analyses of political theory out of it, and you won’t. you cannot read sotr and walk away saying you fully understand Hume’s ideas if that has been your only exposure to the theory of implicit submission. people are grasping for intellectual interrogations of complex topics in YA books that are not designed to do that, where that level of analysis is never going to happen, and honestly that’s why sometimes we just sound like pretentious fools. you can always apply your own deep analysis to any text! but a thorough and advanced theoretical analysis is not part of this particular source material, and excessively searching for it and/or getting annoyed when it’s not there is an exercise in futility
It was time. All of the Concepts residing in the between, the space between realms where there was nothing. Before them were the two failed Concepts. Realms, that simply couldn't live up to the title.
Maybe it was the Origin Pillar's fault for placing the responsibility across entire realms than in the hands of one capable being. There was too much room for error in such a thing. Perhaps they had failed in entrusting the Supporting Pillars of Righteousness and Immorality to self govern.
There was no point in dwelling on it now. Things had to be set right.
Time began to slow, almost to a stop. Everything about to happen would be a blink for those that weren't the Concepts.
Space began to move the realms. The ones Life, Death and Moon created to make the transfer easier.
To move every infernal and celestial being at once, as well as all the souls. Soul born beings would be reset to their original lives. Infernal and celestial born (like demons that held a core, or angels born in the celestial realm) would be turned mortal, given a heart by life. Those placed in the temporary, harbouring realms would be placed under Moon's illusions or Jerrikon's manipulations to make them believe they are living their old life, or a new mortal one. This was to ease the chaos.
However a few would reside in Moon's realm, those that wouldn't be put under any illusions. This included the Sins, the Virtues, arch angels and Xinalith, those deemed far too precious to lose. As well those still residing in her realm deemed not to be a threat like Kaztor, Idris, Belial and Fyvix.
It was a fight for even this. Moon, Life and Death against the other concepts. They wanted a clean slate. Eradicate everything and start anew. Being Origin Pillars, and being more connected to those realms, the Life and Death had a lot of pull and arguments. Moon retaining her mortality seemed to be the driving force to look at the beings and not just the concepts.
It was decided to try and preserve those they could. Innocent lives shouldn't add to the casualties for concepts that was never meant to be. It would have been easier to completely start anew, but it wouldn't have been right.
This all had to be done in tandem, the Concepts working in perfect sync. It was already known some would be lost. There were only eight Concepts and billions of lives and souls, but they would mitigate the casualties as much as they could.
"Ready" Time yawned, things as slow as they could be without stopping.
"Ready." Space confirmed, the realms connecting to make this as seamless as could be.
"Ready." Life swallowed hard and Death nodded.
"Ready." Jerrikon cracked his neck, Moon taking a deep breath and began to meditate, indicating she was ready.
"Ready!" Rex'xa giggled, hopping on Nin as if to say they spoke for her too.
With all the Concepts as ready as they could be, things began. First came moving all of the beings. Rex'xa and Nin were in charge of that while Life gave those that needed it a heart.
Jerrikon and Moon placed those in the harbouring realms in specialized states of delusion to make them feel like they were living a normal life, and to keep them stationary. While doing this, Moon was also pulling the aforementioned into her realm for safe keeping.
It was only when the lives were cleared from the realms, Death stepped in. Mass soul manipulation to put them into a cryogenic state and move them all to the harbouring realm they created.
Once everything was in place, it was all of the Concepts job now, the destruction of the Infernal and Celestial realms, the failed concepts of Righteousness and Immorality.
It was almost like a blood sacrifice, all of them offering a small part of themself to destroy and take on the burden of those concepts.
Something of this scale was a drain, even for the Pillars of Existence. A mass event like this was considered catastrophic. And here they all were, in the between, looking at the space where the realms once stood.
"How long until the realms can be rebuilt?" Moon asked, steadying her breath. All of the concepts held heavy weights and burdens at the moment. All pushing themselves to capacity.
Life, keeping up with the new realms and sustaining the life within them and those given hearts.
Death, up keeping the new realms and all of those souls
Moon, Upkeeping the new realms, her own and the illusions on the beings.
Jerrikon, upkeeping the manipulation as well as taking on the duties for the other Concepts while they were preocupied.
Nin and Rex'xa taking on the majority of duties the other Concepts couldn't do at the moment.
It would be on Time and Space to create the new realms. They were the only ones capable at the moment to create ones replicating the old without the corruption and make them hospitable.
"Hmm. A week maybe?" Time sighed, a little pout on their face.
"Three at the soonest." Space winked and cracked their knuckles.
With all of the Concepts knowing their job and on the same page, there was nothing else to say. Keep this up and sustained until Time and Space could recreate the realms.
Avatar (the original show) was truly insane for being as peak as it was. Like, bro, you’re a kid’s show, who gave you permission to be this good ?
David Tennant is everywhere....
Solution: I must draw him as Javert
