So this au is primarily based on an alternate timeline where the beta trolls' game failed and the condensce started conquering planets, eventually reaching earth and using a combination of brute force "my bomb is bigger than your bomb" and subtly fucking w earth politics(read:bribing people to her side), she takes over earth in a few months and implements whatever she pleases on this planet

The beta trolls all tried to stop her when they played their version of the game, but they failed pretty badly and were all scattered to the far corners of the universe. Buf here's the thing- SBURB decided that it couldnt lose its players so theyre all put into a deep sleep that works similar to cryostasis- theyre all just frozen in time until someone can rescue them

Enter the earth kids. Earths been like even more shit than it is for us rn: intense government censorship of just about everything, rewritten history, trolls are basically worshipped like gods, and humanity has been broken down both by corrupt human politicians shown as inspiration porn ("look what you can do despite being human") and by a tight grip from the troll government. None of the kids are happy with this, but they don't know what to do- there are so few of then and theyre only high schoolers!

Until rose finds a book in the woods that talks about a rebellion led by 12 trolls almost 100 years ago. Legend has it that they never died, but have only been buried. And look, this map shows one right here! And so begins a trip to find some of the trolls and gather enough people to fight back against the condensce and end her reign if tyranny of humankind and trollkind alike
