She made it, & she kept her chin up every time she met her JSA uncles. So, with Constantine ? She’d rub it in front of him for days.

“There was the ice cream a few days ago. Children love ice cream.” Of course, what they had done with that ice cream was very much not for children but that wasn’t the point. “I like you hypnotizing me. I don’t dream at all. And I had a dreamcatcher as a child. I still had nightmares and sometimes the dreams are worse.” The dreams had you waking up believing for a moment you had won against life. That people lived and loved than reality came crashing back in on you. “I know none of it was real, but I still remember killing the boy.” She hated being drugged, especially when it made her believe she was the worst version of herself.

“I”m going back to my Earth.” She couldn’t bring herself to say it was home. The girl who had left there was a very different person from who she was now. When Dinah had left she could have never imagined that she could be considered a hero and maybe she would never be as good as the woman whose costume she now had, but she also didn’t feel like she had to live up to her anymore. “I figured I might as well come to say goodbye. I have things to make up for and I’m not sure when I’ll be able to come back here.”

he wasn’t sure how long they’d had stayed awake now. Enough that he could have sworn he was hallucinating. things that shouldn’t be here…unless that was just part of the damn curse. neither of them could sleep, zee was out of it though thankfully and was searching for a way out of it. their job was to stay awake.

he had suggested sitting back to back sitting up to keep laying down. AT least feeling his heartbeat through his back was proof he was still alive.

‘Still awake there nicky?” he asked in a teasing tone having to blink out the burn from his eyes. “or am I really beating you in something so simple.’ he nearly mocked mainly to make sure the male stayed awake.

Fuck. He was awake, but barely. It was a real struggle, staying awake now. He didn’t know how goddamn long either of them had been under this curse, how long either of them had stayed awake.

Had he believed in anything but his own power, and magic, he’d have prayed for Zee to find a counterspell soon. Before either Nick or John fell asleep and never woke up.

He felt John’s movement, his heart, through his back, and he wondered how much of it was sleep-deprived hallucinations.

“Don’t mock me,” Nick said, but he could hear how feeble he sounded in his own voice. He was trying to tease back. It was hard. “You know you can’t beat me at this. But you--have to stay awake. Can’t make this too easy for me, Johnny.”

“Lucas?” Laurel glanced around the house for her son. She was finishing unpacking the house and Lucas was supposed to be napping. But when she went to check on him the boy was nowhere to be found. Laurel had been scared a lot in her life but never like this. “Lucas, this isn’t funny. We’re not playing hide and seek.” She opened the front door to find her son in the road and crying, his trike knocked over and a blonde man he had obviously hit. She ran over to the two of them and stopped short as she recognized the man. “John?” Shaking her head she knelt down with a grimace and looked over her son for any injuries. “You’re okay baby. I’m so sorry, she was supposed to be taking a nap. Are you okay?”

“I don’t know anymore John. I know I should stay away from you and not tempt fate but I can’t. I’m not as strong as people think I am.” She took a few steps back, giving herself a physical distance since she couldn’t do an emotional one. “They need you, because I can’t do this anymore. I’ve lost to much to this fight and I’m afraid the next thing I’m going to lose is myself.”
