Dinah Laurel Lance in Arrow S8
➢ 8x05 – Prochnost
smoakiism:
There were many people they knew who probably would have pointed out to Dinah that it wasn’t likely or possible for her world to be brought back because of the way it was taken out. That this anti-matter erasing earths was the be-all-end-all, and to a point Felicity did believe that which was what terrified her with the thought that it was coming their way. She wasn’t going to say that to Dinah though. No, she was going to be that hope that her friend very clearly needed. “If there is anything I can do to help… I will. You always have a place here with me.”
Dinah didn’t even know where to start. Everyone she knew who could help on her Earth was different here and the people she did know here, well most of them she wasn’t on the best of terms with. Right now though she just needed her friend. “I will. I just... I just need to clear my mind. Figure out my next step. I can’t lose everyone again, not when it was my job to protect them.”

“And this is the only thing that could keep you awake right now? At that point I might as well take care of you shirtless myself.” Not that she was going to do that. If she didn’t have a towel to press against the wound to try and stop the bleeding and clean the area than her shirt would have to have done. The towel was much better though, cleaner, and thicker than the shirt she was wearing. “Think you can hold this here a moment?” She asked as she glanced up at Dinah.
“I could think of other things, but you would object to them.” And she was certainly in no position to be doing any of those things. The rest of what Felicity said filtered through and Dinah grinned. “That would keep me awake.” Sometimes she felt like she was back in high school with her first crush and not caring who knew about it. Felicity just made her feel lighter, or maybe she had lost a little to much blood. Dinah nodded and pressed the towel to her side. “Am I going to live doc?”

“Yep, the one and only– well not the one and only baby of course. There are thousands born every day! But my one and only baby!” Felicity felt like her babbling wasn’t normal, but that could have been from her lack of sleep that came with raising a new born on her own and worrying about the whereabouts of her husband after he left with the monitor. She supposed those excuses would have to do. “Mia– after Moira.”
Dinah had missed Felicity’s rambling. There was something comforting in it or maybe it was just she needed something to hold onto after losing her home. “The one and only baby that matters to me on this Earth.” Not that she would ever allow herself to hurt something so innocent, Felicity’s daughter or not, but this was the only one that was family. “Fitting. Can I hold her? It’s been to long since I held a baby and I was the first one to found out about her existence.”
“I am something of an expert on vengeance and getting it…it doesn’t do anything but cause you more pain.”
smoakiism:
By the time Laurel was trying to reassure her that they were going to be okay Felicity had started to close her heavy eyes for a moment. Struggling to focus. They were going to be okay. They had to be okay! Opening her eyes again she nodded as best as she could. “Yeah– yes, we are badass” Her head was spinning, there were aches all over her body and a numbness that she wasn’t sure if it was her mind protecting her from the pain she was in or medicine being injected by the doctors to keep her comfortable either, but she was going to do her best to be okay. “Not your fault”
The shock must have been wearing off because Laurel could start to feel her ribs hurting worse than before. She wished she didn’t feel any of the pain but she wasn’t going to take the painkillers they were offering her. Not unless it was life or death. “We’re survivors.” It was a terrifying thought, eventually, she wondered if her luck was going to run out. “A lot of things aren’t my fault.” That didn’t mean she didn’t feel responsible. The wrong place at the wrong time should be her motto. “Just be okay.” As a doctor poked around, Laurel let out a hiss. She would bet anything one of her ribs was broken.

The human body was an amazing thing. For one, pregnancy seemed to make her equal parts noxious and horny, the later he was not complaining about. Flag had the materials necessary for child welfare. A painted room. Changing station. And everything but the sink had bene thought if. Still, as much as he could prepare, no plan survived the first contact with the enemy. He nodded with a slight head tilt, “ I think we’ll learn as we go. And at the very least, they are going to be loved and pretty lucky in the genetics part.”
Laurel had always been one of those people that prepared for everything. It made being a lawyer the perfect career for her, being a vigilante not so much. And being a mother was going to be full of unexpected experiences. At least they had all of the big things and wouldn’t be scrambling to prepare after the baby came. “And this will be a lot less life-threatening. At least we won’t have to worry about the baby trying to kill us.” She laughed at the genetics comment. “Smart, good looking, and bad-ass. This child is going to be trouble/”
