Swiss Heaviest Stoner Rock
As most of the people in the modern world, I often find myself struggling with daily issues like rent, chores, job, taxes and other concerns that are nothing more than a part of a self-feeding torture machine called adulthood. And, obviously, I hate it. But, from time to time, I stumble upon some stoner band, attacking me with its stoner sound, and all those meaningless problems playing tricks on me become what they really are: meaningless. It's just a brief relief, long as a blasting stoner song, but, sure as the hell that we call earth, it can give you a sprint to find more satisfaction in what you do or at least not fall in despair. I mean, think of a band like The Crotals from Lausanne. Its members, instead of living their normal life of 9 to 5 grind, have chosen to spend most of their free time and an incredibile amount of energy in crafting some of the most violent, corrosive, metal-imbued stoner rock you'll find around. And all for what? It's not the most technical or the most catchy or the popular genre around. It's more close to getting stoned than making art, and getting stoned with amps and guitars can be really expensive compared to other drugs or other arts. So, all for what? I'll tell you for what. For the feeling you get in perceiving distorted, low-pitched riffs shaking your whole body while a drummer is relentlessly trying to kill his drum with the sticks. That can kick all the trivialities of your common life out of your mind. Let me tell you: stoner-heads are the hippies of the new millenium. Fuzzed-up, chaotic, carefree hippies with loud amps and distortion pedals.
