Westeros regions fashion studies: The Crownlands
"The crownlands are one of the nine constituent regions of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. It was never a sovereign kingdom, instead being contested by river kings, Storm Kings, and local petty kings until Aegon the Conqueror seized control of the area during his Wars of Conquest and made it his primary foothold on the continent. Since then, the crownlands have been ruled directly by the Iron Throne, first House Targaryen and, after Robert's Rebellion, House Baratheon. Bastards of noble origin raised in the crownlands are given the surname Waters."
After weeks after announcing it, finally the first part of this project is completed!
I saw many fashion studies about asoiaf houses in the past (ex @nata.draws), and I wanted to join this train too, but instead on the sinles houses I thought it would be more interesting to focous on regions.
While working on my fic I did some researches on the topic and with the time I devolped a specific design for some characters and their fashion. So I thought it would be interesting to use these reaserches to make a more wide fashion study on how I saw every Westeros region.
Every region is inspired to a particular historical fashion period of real history, that I choose based on my vision of these territories and the vibes they gave to me.
For the Crownlands I decided to use the 1500s French style as inspiration.
The next region will be the Riverlands: can you guess the historical period that I uesed as reference?
