Just chilling, nothing going on here at all 👀 😇
Just thought I'd mention something for my occipital neuralgia friends, my nerve block has run out and I'm waiting on my next one.
In the meantime I've found a way to reduce the flare up.
I got a TENS machine during my last flare and while it doesn't stop the pain when it starts, if I leave the diodes on a constant low, once I've blitzed myself with oxycodone, the tens is stopping it from coming back as bad once the painkillers wear off.
I struggled with keeping them on my head because the diodes just. Aren't sticky enough to stay on my stubble. I've tried headbands and bandannas but they make the rest of my head too sensitive after a while, but we had a roll of wide hypafix so I tried that and it stays on for 24h without needing adjusting!
If you want to give it a go, apply the diodes to the occiptial nerve where it branches, the same place you get your injections. You will have to shave the back of the head there but an undercut works, you don't have to do the full head.
Cut the hypafix tape so that it's got rounded corners, and tear the center of the paper backing so that you've got a sticky middle and paper tabs on each end.
Put your diodes on and leave them unplugged for the moment
Look down so your neck is extended, and put the centre over the diodes and press, make sure your plugs are free and dangling
take the paper off the tab on one side and stretch it to touch the skin at the back of the ear, rubbing it so it's got a good grip
do the same to the other side.
TENS settings are 80hz continuous with no timer, on my machine it's called "classic tens". Should be a buzz feeling and not a tapping. For the amps, I use the first setting I can feel and leave it there. It's a very low intensity and you don't really notice it after a bit. Higher settings don't seem to work for it. For me that's 9mA.
I leave it on for about 2 days before I need to change the tape, and give myself a 12h break for my skin, since it's still extremely humid here. If I could use ktape I think it would last longer, unfortunately I'm allergic.
If this helps you at all let me know.
The Hunger Games Tarot - Arrows
Ten of Arrows: Digging Coal
Responsibility, struggle, overload, priorities
First time trying a microwaveable heating pad to relieve menstrual cramps. Oh lawwwd instant relief. But gods help any nearby body parts unaffected because that thing BURNS holy shit. Then I realised. It's the same with my TENS machine. That shit stings like a bitch if you put the electrodes anywhere outside the painful area. I mean, like... pain is subjective but it's got to be way up there if burning and electrocuting is soothing by comparison.
In other words we are using elemental sorcery to beat our wombs at their own game. Pain. Don't let anybody tell you that's not bad ass warrior shit.
I love characters who wear something on their heads:

That's my first full-fledged job ;) Don't judge strictly
