part 5 of ??? of my series of redrawing Twin Peaks in Satoshi Kon's 90's anime style.

What would a Twin Peaks project be without one of the weirdest character's of all: The Arm. He's too iconic /not/ to include frankly. Even though what most people would expect would be a scene with him dancing, I thought going for a scene where he shows off the ring would be very important. Because of the black symbol, it's connection to corn and garmonbozia and it's connection to Laura's purpose and inescapable fate. It's such layered symbolism to me, I could honestly make a whole video essay info-dumping on just this alone.

Summary: John had only been admiring the way the lanky first year student moved when he danced, really. He would never have made a move on him himself. He wasn’t even sure he was attracted to men at all.

Fun fact: I wrote this fic back in JULY (i.e. over six months ago, LOL), and even read out the first half at the online writers' retreat.
